Trippin to Thailand
So, as has been previously mentioned, last year Karen and I were supposed
to go to Egypt. Hmmm...it must have been some trip for so many other trips
to grow out of it.
However, 9-11 came and to Egypt we did not go. Instead we saw America.
Instead, we had a big old credit with our tour company for another trip.
Karen and I decided to pick a place that, well, wouldn't cost us much
more than the value of the credit. Thailand was in the price range and
it sounded cool.
And thus, with the least research that I have ever done for a trip,
to Thailand we frollicked.
We had a wonderful time.
The air in the tropics has texture.
You can feel it on your skin. Warm. Soft, like an affectionate cat.
Full. Filled with life.
And that was Thailand all over. Shining gold in the sun. Flashing colors.
A visual cacophony of just right - too much - color.
Empty spaces, crowding people. Artful food and a bevy of 7elevens. Jungle
and city. Riding the elephants. Riding shanks mare (your feet).
And without further ado, the trip.
