After a certain amount of wandering, we
made our way to the virtually modern Heian shrine.
Once again, a huge gate and lots of white
gravel.
Apparently,
it's blinding on a sunny day, so the drizzle was to our benefit.
On the right, cherry tree.
On the left, a tree covered in paper prayers.
Kiyoumizu-dera
Temple
Clinging to the hillside above Kyoto. Beautiful
misty views of the layers of blue enfolding hills.
Beneath
the temple there is a spring with three streams. Visitors can drink two
of the three to get either wisdom, beauty or long life. To drink three
would be greedy and you get naught.
