The Meade glacier curves back toward the Juneau icefields.

The lines that you see are morains (i.e., rocks carried along by the glacier). Generally they're on the side, but where glaciers meet, lines of rocks end up stranded in the middle. Long curving lines that show the creep of the glacier forward.
