Well, okay, Mayland Long an elderly Chinese man, once was a Five Fingered
Dragon. He has roamed the earth, studying humans, looking for "the truth."
Now as a human he lives in a beautiful hotel on the hill in San Francisco,
then Martha comes to dinner.
She's quirky. Her mind flits in strange directions. He recognizes her as the
teacher that he has been looking for.
If they can just get this whole industrial espionage thing out of the way.
There's truth to be uncovered. And she can't do that if they are dead.
Twisting the Rope
Description: Four years have gone by and Martha and Mayland are in a traveling band. Celtic music that is.
It's a mystery set in Santa Cruz.
It's a philosophical exposition on the nature of life and meaning.
Mayland has a cold and he's pretty miserable.
There's a dead body, that person's pretty miserable too.
Can Mayland get over his cold, keep his temper, find the "truth." Not about the body, you know, the life thing.
Can Martha keep her band together. In her late fifties, does she want to. Can she find the truth, not the life thing, the dead body question.
Very interesting books, and seriously, Mayland rocks.
